Established in 1985, Steven Harris Architects is an award-winning design firm with wide experience in both public and private commissions. Offering interior and landscape design in addition to architectural assistance, the Tribeca-based firm is distinguished for impeccably crafted and well-managed design projects that are custom-tailored to the everyday lives of each customer.
Drawing upon a wisdom of knowledge and operation experience in high-end residential design, the firm has significant experience and a special affection for searching the design potential of urban houses and modern family life in New York City. At the same time, the firm has finished projects of all scales in a range of locales worldwide.
For this remarkable Boston house renovation, all of Steven Harris Architects‘ expertise comes together: class, inevitably smooth flow, an entry hall that seems to attract and draw in as the final part of that long trajectory that brings the occupants and their visitors inside the home.
The exquisite calla-lily staircase is clearly a masterpiece. But while it is striking, it is not severe or pretentiously pompous. It is natural and smooth, enveloping and enticing.
And although Steven Harris Architects is essentially acknowledged for its residential projects, one of their best-known retail projects highlights a remarkable staircase as well. At Barneys New York’s four-story downtown Chelsea flagship store that opened in February 2016, the spiraling, white marble staircase has been reported as a runway to heaven.
Most important, the masterpiece, minimalist center of concentration has the same welcoming feeling as the entry hall staircase in the Boston house.
