The owners went to the NICOLEHOLLIS team, which carried out a three-year renovation project. Many elements of origin, were protected, but it was essential to adapt the spaces to a contemporary lifestyle, as well as providing all the comfort of the 21st century.
The interior designer created a multifunctional living space that serves both for entertainment and family meals or work at home and thanks to larger windows, he let more natural light come inside and create a direct connection to the garden. To “reinvent the house with a modern sensibility, but keeping his soul”, in the words of Nicole Hollis.
The interiors are organized on three floors with the modern living room, the dining room, and the kitchen at street level. The lower floor houses the family room, a guest room with a bathroom and a cellar. On the top floor, which houses the children’s bedroom and an office, the new main room occupies the former dance hall and reflects the elegance of old times. Some of the modern furniture was designed by NICOLEHOLLIS, two polished brass mirrors that serve as a closet.
With a mixture of architectural elements of origin, pieces of contemporary furniture, as well as an extensive collection of modern art, this interior design project shows how to merge past and present to create a timeless home.
