Dimore Studio designers Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran completed another dramatic and flamboyant London exclusive club. The Arts Club in Mayfair, Leo’s act as a dining and clubbing venue, as well as a space to host creative talks. “… men of vision to provide a haven for those people who had professional or amateur relationships with the Arts, Literature or Sciences.”
The inspiration for the luxurious interiors was the decadent 1960s nightlife spots on the French Riviera, they reinterpret the retro style of the era in a modern and “eclectic” manner. “A mix of contemporary, retro and oriental elements, combined with mirrors and light, shaped a soft, unusual and sophisticated environment,” said the pair.
In the “Mood for Love”, a Chinese romance film released in the year 2000 that features similarly hued scenery. “A sensual and intimate setting made of warm colors conveyed a feeling of blurred and indistinct memory, inspired by the fascinating environments of the film,” said the designers.
“Dimore’s style is like nothing else in the marketplace today and they have a deft touch,” says Gary Landesberg, chairman of The Arts Club. “Crucially, they understand what makes us tick and we trust them implicitly – an essential part of any collaboration. We had complete faith that the bold choices they made with the design would translate from the initial mood boards into something spectacular – and we haven’t been disappointed. We’ve had a lot of fun creating something extraordinary.”
The elegant interiors are designed whit curved shapes, shiny brass, plush pink velvet and then, a stunning curtain of bamboo-beads that bring to our mind an image of large lotus flowers. Dramatic lighting, velvet upholstery and purple carpets, and above the tables silk lanterns painted with Chinese motifs.
