I love Barcelona and everything this enthusiastic city has to offer. Starting from Gaudi masterpieces. La Sagrada Familia is the ex-libris of Gaudi’s work. But who doesn’t fall in love with El Park Güell, the municipal garden where one can enjoy beautiful views from the site, with sixty triangular lots being provided for luxury houses.

Park Güell is skillfully designed and composed to bring the peace and calm that one would expect from a park. In the heart of Barcelona, enthusiastic young designers, architects and artists from all over the world have opened an unusual space to show their colourful and eclectic creations. Of course I am talking about Mar de Cava. Here you will surely find great ideas for your home decor at this store design or (and let me practice my spanish) “la más genial tienda de muebles en Barcelona”.

Mar de Cava is the personal project of young designer Mar Gómez Espriu, who has created, in an emblematic Modernist building of Barcelona’s Eixample, an eclectic space with great personality dedicated to exclusive design and interior design. Great to inspire you as it has uncountless decoration ideas.

It gathers creative handcrafted pieces by young designers that fill the space with colour and creativity and will bring a special and original touch to our lives. Here young and enterprising Catalan designer has created her own universe, a charming space with personality, the hallmarks of which are colours, originality, creativity and exclusivity.

Mar de Cava is housed in a building with two storeys that each cover 270 square metres. Visitors can find anything from a hand-painted greeting card to a limited-edition sideboard Soho from Boca do Lobo to an unique vintage lamp from Delightfull. The store, which is full of light and colour, also hosts a variety of exhibitions.

Furniture, lighting, painting and photography, fashion and jewellery are all the products one can find at Mar de Cava.

The two floors of Mar de Cava collect handcrafted and creative works by young designers with bold, contemporary and almost unique pieces designed to build and complete spaces.

Artists like Apparatu, Donna Wilson, Krasznai, Undergrow, Domingo Ayala, Josep Mestres and Agnes Rodon are just a sample of the young talents that fill every corner of Mar de Cava with proposals ranging from a homey cookie to select limited edition products. Beds, lamps, sofas, chairs, closets, accessories,….of international designers from all over the world!

After you have visited Mar de Cava, and believe me, if you are a design lover, you will want to spend a lot of time inside this amazing shop, maybe you would like to start the evening by drinking the best Champagne I have ever taste at La Champagnería, one of the most vibrant bars in the city. It serves Cava by the glass and delicious tapas.

Then, while promenading past exclusive fashion boutiques on the city’s most famous Passeig de Gràcia, look up to admire the sensually organic architecture of Gaudi. Chanel, Loewe, Montblanc, Cartier, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabanna, Louis Vuitton are some of the luxury fashion stores where you can buy at this avenue. And if you stay a few more days at Cataluña, I really recomend a trip to Girona and to its wonderful Costa Brava, one of the most paradisiac spanish places. Enjoy the sun, the Mediterranean setting the pace and don’t forget to enjoy a meal at El Bulli, considered in many occasions, the best restaurant of the world.
