Karl Lagerfeld put together another unforgettable event for Chanel earlier this week, for the French label’s 2015 couture show. With previous runway shows also proving memorable, such as the staged feminist revolution, dinner in a Parisian brasserie, or a walk down a twister like candy-land, Lagerfeld managed to raise the stakes yet-again, recreating the interior of a busy casino inside Paris’ emblematic Grand Palais.
The runway made its way around the Chanel gaming tables, which were surrounded by “CC” branded slot machines. Opening the show in true style, croupiers dealt cards and casino chips to the event’s special guest – the legendary designer’s muses – Kristen Stewart, Julianne Moore, Rita Ora, Lilly Collins and Vanessa Paradis, accompanied by her daughter Lily-Rose Depp. Chanel’s Couture line stuck to the show’s aesthetic, with models wearing classic pieces with the right dose of edge – skinny dresses and skirt suits, voluminous coats, geometric jackets and discerning heels.
The night’s highlight came at the very end, with Kendall Jenner closing the show as the couture bride in effortless class, sporting a crisp double-breasted white satin suit, and a large floral veil-like shawl.
